Winslow Junior High Stem Class:

Project write up:

This class is available to any 7th or 8th grader that has a scheduled study hall for that time. We focused on three separate projects each trimester. Our year started with a Rube Goldberg machine, and  then students moved into the First Lego League Competition. Second trimester focused on the "Tug of War" competition that had been held in previous years where students build a vehicle that is able to pull another vehicle in a tug of war. The third trimester was to focus on alternative energy, with the KidWind Wind Blade challenge and the Junior Solar Sprint. As the Kid Wind Blade challenge did not happen, we switched to the Maine Robotics Track Meet. Junior Solar Sprint will wind out the end of the year.

Congratulations to Dana Waring Bateman for the Phillip Marcoux Award

and

Gus Goodwin for the Louis P. Lambert Award
